Details

FPE in paddle.linalg.matrix_rank in PaddlePaddle before 2.6.0. This flaw can cause a runtime crash and a denial of service.

Reason for inclusion in AVID: CVE-2023-38675 describes a vulnerability in PaddlePaddle (paddle.linalg.matrix_rank) that can cause a runtime crash and denial of service. PaddlePaddle is a widely used AI framework; this vulnerability affects a component commonly used in AI software stacks, i.e., the software supply chain for general-purpose AI systems. It is a software-level vulnerability (not hardware/firmware-only) with network-based triggering. Therefore it qualifies for AVID curation.
