AVID-2026-R1184

Description

Vulnerability CVE-2023-25510

Details

NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit SDK for Linux and Windows contains a NULL pointer dereference in cuobjdump, where a local user running the tool against a malformed binary may cause a limited denial of service.

Reason for inclusion in AVID: CVE-2023-25510 describes a NULL pointer dereference in NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit’s cuobjdump, which can cause a local denial of service. CUDA Toolkit is a software component widely used in AI/ML development and deployment (GPU-accelerated pipelines, tooling, and runtime). This implies a vulnerability in a software dependency/toolchain integral to building/running general-purpose AI systems, i.e., a software supply chain issue within AI stacks. The vulnerability is explicitly security-related (DoS) and is evidenced by the CVE entry and CWE classification. Therefore, it should be kept for AVID curation as a software supply chain vulnerability affecting AI systems.
